The Laboratory Assistant I at Baptist Health Arkansas provides essential support to the clinical laboratory, handling specimens, performing testing when indicated, and maintaining accurate labeling and distribution. • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend English and perform computer functions.
• Professional telephone etiquette and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving ability with multiple complex variables.
• Organized, self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work assigned shifts and comfortable with human specimens.
• Completes training in unpacking and stocking inventory items.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Mansioni

• Support and customer service in the clinical laboratory, processing specimens and performing waived or moderate testing if indicated.
• Receive, process, label, distribute specimens and test as directed by supervisor.
• Communicate with nursing and laboratory staff about specimen problems.
• Maintain thorough understanding of laboratory specimens and HIS/LIS systems.
• Perform clerical duties as required and follow established protocols.
• Work under supervision of Technical Staff and report to assigned Supervisor.
