Job summary

Requirements include an MLT credential or higher with relevant coursework and 0–3 years in a clinical/lab setting. PRN shift; candidate must be able to work as part of a team and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• MLT degree or higher with required coursework in chemistry and biology.
• 0–3 years of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and nonwaived laboratory testing per established policies.
• Maintains hospital and lab safety policies and PPE usage.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in quality activities including QA monitoring and audits.
• Receives and sorts specimens; distributes to appropriate sections.
• Records information in the OUH lab informatics system.
• Assesses potential testing issues and takes action as needed.
• Prepares chemical solutions and reagents with proper labeling.
• Performs instrument QC and maintenance as trained.
• Documents instrument maintenance and function checks.
• Engages in professional development and competency assessments.
• Performs proficiency testing as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
