Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist for the POC Lab in the South OKC Freestanding ED. You will perform waived and nonwaived tests, ensure quality control, and maintain instruments under supervision.

The role requires 0-3 years of lab experience and an appropriate MLT degree with required coursework. Teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards are essential in this fast-paced ED environment. PPE use and meticulous record-keeping are expected throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Must have an accredited MLT program or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of clinical/lab experience required.
• Nationally recognized certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived and nonwaived patient testing as per policy.
• Follow safety policies and use PPE properly.
• Support quality improvement and regulatory standards.
• Handle specimens and document data in the LIS.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab instrumentation.
• Complete competency assessments and inventory tasks.
