Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Lab Technology (MLT) or Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours of MLT courses, or 24 semester hours of science with chemistry/biology courses.
• 0-3 years of experience in a clinical or other laboratory setting.
• Nationally recognized certification through ASCP, AMT, AABB, NASKL, ASCLS, HHS, ASHI, AAB, ABB, AMS, CRP, EBPH, Military or NILA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and nonwaived laboratory patient testing in a prompt and reliable manner according to established hospital policies.
• Complies with hospital and laboratory safety policies including PPE usage.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality activities and supports regulatory standards.
• Receives, sorts, and assigns specimens for testing and records information in the OUH lab informatics system.
• Performs proficiency testing and completes competency assessments.
• Performs inventory management and other duties as assigned.
