Job summary

Allina Health in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Professional in Microbiology for a 1.0 FTE role. Day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week, every 3rd weekend. Performs routine and complex testing and supports education and safety in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will work with CAP, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA guidelines, assist with patient orders, and help train staff and students while ensuring quality and accuracy across laborator y operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree required with clinical rotations or equivalent routes.
• Experience with lab testing and adherence to regulatory standards preferred.
• Ability to provide customer service and manage patient orders.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures.
• Follows federal regulations including CAP, OSHA, COLA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
• Customer service and patient order management.
• Evaluates and manages patient orders for completeness and follows up as needed.
• Performs scheduling, ordering, and releasing patient's orders in the EMR.
• Collection and processing of specimens following standardized system protocols.
• Reviews orders, verifies patient identification and uses appropriate collection methods.
• Maintains Education, Regulatory, and Safety measures.
• Participates in the training of employees and students.
• CLIA Defined Responsibilities: § 493.1425 Moderate complexity.
• CLIA Defined Responsibilities: § 493.1495 Participation in meetings/projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
