Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc is seeking Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform a range of clinical laboratory analyses and ensure accurate test results. Responsibilities include specimen processing, phlebotomy when required, data entry into LIS, and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required for MLT, preferably from accredited program.
• Bachelor’s Degree required for MLS, preferably from accredited program.
• Less than 1 year of prior laboratory training accepted (student training).

Responsibilities

• Process specimens following established protocols and proper patient identification.
• Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture at hospital locations as needed.
• Determine specimen acceptability by visual QC checks.
• Document results and enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Operate analytical equipment and maintain devices per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to QC policies and participate in proficiency testing.
