Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital in West Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join the clinical team. You will perform and report a wide range of tests across chemistry, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, hematology, serology, and blood bank, ensuring accuracy and compliance with QC procedures.

You will communicate results to providers, assist with specimen collection, and support ongoing staff development while maintaining instrument operation and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or sciences required.
• One year of lab experience or training in the specialty.
• Registered by the ASCP or equivalent; BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Record, prepare, perform, and report patient tests across chemistry, microbiology, molecular, hematology, serology, and blood bank.
• Communicate results and interpretations to providers.
• Demonstrate advanced technique in blood collection and support staff.
• Evaluate specimen integrity and correlate results with patient data.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments; troubleshoot problems.
• Provide training and supervise new staff when needed.
