Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform tests across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular (PCR), serology and blood bank, ensuring accuracy, quality control and timely results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in medical technology or related sciences.
• One year of full-time laboratory experience or training in the specialty.
• Registration by ASCP or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Record, prepare, perform, evaluate and report patient tests across chemistry, microbiology, hematology and more.
• Communicate results to providers and staff and ensure specimen integrity.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed.
• Provide training and supervision to new staff and assess competency.
• Assist with developing or updating procedures and quality controls.
• Support data collection, statistics and reporting within the department.

Education

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, biological sciences

Completion of one year of full-time laboratory experience or training in the specialty

Registered by the ASCP or equivalent
