Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory, Life Sciences or Medical Technology required.
• ASCP Registered preferred, or equivalent accreditation.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination and performs complex tests across chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological disciplines.
• Performs start-up, QC, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments per lab protocols; assists with inventory management.
• Evaluates test results, enters data into LIS, reports critical results to providers, and ensures accuracy and timeliness of reports.
• Participates in continuing education, competency assessments, QA/QI projects, and SOP development under supervision.
• May perform venipunctures and blood culture collection; trains staff and assists with multiple priorities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory, Life Sciences or Medical Technology

ASCP Registered preferred, or equivalent accreditation
