Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Certification for MT/MLS/CLS/MLT from ASCP/AMT/AAB or HEW/HHS.
• Louisiana requires State Licensure (if applicable).
• New Graduate that is Board Certified or eligible (within 1 year if Louisiana not applicable).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complicated laboratory procedures in assigned sections.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Ensures the laboratory quality control program is properly followed.
• Calculates, enters, and verifies results; uses the Laboratory Information System.
