• Performs a full range of laboratory tests from simple to complex
• Interprets reports and communicates findings to physicians
• Escalates unusual results to clinicians
• Operates and maintains electronic equipment and precision instruments
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and reagents
• Assists in selecting appropriate lab tests and in proficiency testing
• Follows safety protocols for hazardous materials
• Reviews literature and attends seminars for updates
