Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field or an associate degree in medical technology.
• MT certification or certification within 18 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by chemical analyses.
• Analyzes blood cells using microscopic techniques.
• Prepares blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions and tests compatibility.
• Processes and reports cultures and antibiotic sensitivities.
• Maintains operation of laboratory equipment through calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and expedites orders.
• Ensures QA/QI standards compliance and infection-control protocols.
