Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc is seeking a Lab Support / Phlebotomy Specialist to join the Offsite Lab team in North Carolina. You will assist with specimen accessioning, processing, and occasional phlebotomy, ensuring accurate handling and timely delivery of samples.

The role requires a high school diploma, ASCP certifications are preferred, CPR certification preferred for Offsite Lab sections, and you will maintain quality control, support compliance with laboratory regulations, and

Qualifications

One year of clinical laboratory/medical experience preferred.
Two years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
ASCP certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Completes technical tasks such as specimen accessioning, preparation, and processing, and specimen delivery and storage.
Performs clerical tasks and specimen accessioning in accordance with testing protocols.
Maintains laboratory operations by performing equipment maintenance, quality control, and preventive maintenance.
Performs waived laboratory testing and documents patient reports and quality control.
Upholds laws and regulations related to laboratory operations.
Documents daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in the assigned work area.
Delivers service excellence and quality patient care through effective communication and problem resolution.
