Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - PRN Days to join our dedicated laboratory team. This role supports phlebotomy and routine lab procedures on site during PRN day shifts including Saturdays and Sundays 0500–1330.

Required: a high school diploma or equivalent; six months phlebotomy experience or a one-semester course; ASCP PBT phlebotomy preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months phlebotomy experience or one course completed.
• PBT (ASCP) phlebotomy tech preferred on hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow lab procedures for specimen collection and labeling.
• Perform duties in other lab areas as needed.
• Report and evaluate test results.
• Assist nurses and lab staff to deliver patient care.

Work hours: PRN (As Needed) - Days, Saturday and Sunday, 0500-1330.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE)

• Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.

• PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.

What You’ll Do

• For those entities performing phlebotomy, employees follow laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient

• Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity

• Reports and evaluates test results

• Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
