Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial in Arlington, TX is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant for evening part-time shifts (Wednesday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM). You’ll support specimen collection, labeling, and routine laboratory tasks under supervision, contributing to timely patient care in a busy hospital lab.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and some phlebotomy experience or a short phlebotomy course; ASCP Phlebotomy Technician certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CLIA foreign education equivalency applies.

Responsibilities

• Follow lab procedures for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for age.
• Perform procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity.
• Report and evaluate test results.
• Assist other hospital and laboratory staff to provide timely patient care.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Six months phlebotomy experience or one semester phlebotomy course

PBT(ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician preferred

Work hours: Part Time - Evenings, Wednesday through Friday, 1300-2130.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.(Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE)
• Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
• PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.

What You'll Do

• For those entities performing phlebotomy, employees follow laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
• Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
• Reports and evaluates test results
• Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
