Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient registration information in computer.
• Prioritizes and enters orders.
• Obtains specimens for testing across all age groups.
• Receives and processes laboratory orders and data.
• Answers telephones and routes calls.
• Processes and packages specimens for delivery to lab.
• Performs physician-ordered EKG testing.
• Performs legal drug collection.
• Maintains department supplies and notifies supervisor when stock is low.
• Cleans glassware and performs related housekeeping duties.
• May set up microbiology cultures or transport specimens.
• May scan documents into EMR.
• Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
