Job summary

AdventHealth Glendale Heights is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the laboratory team. The role involves collecting blood samples, preparing specimens, and delivering them to the testing department in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will perform phlebotomy with attention to detail, maintain quality control, and support various lab processes. The position offers a daytime schedule and opportunities for growth within a faith-based healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Minimum typing skills of 30 wpm (preferred).
• 1+ year of experience in AdventHealth lab (preferred).
• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Collects patient, physician, and test order information to create patient accounts.
• May perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture.
• Loads preanalytical instruments or delivers specimens to the testing department.
• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
• Performs waived testing with uniformity, consistency, reliability, reproducibility, quality, and integrity of results.
