Job summary

Qualifications

• A.A. or A.S. degree required.
• Appropriate state license required; national certification preferred; BLS preferred.
• Minimum four years experience in healthcare, clinical setting preferred.
• Must maintain MLT license and CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated routine blood tests with quality control procedures.
• Prepare specimens for microscope examination and operate laboratory equipment.
• Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and place orders as needed.
• Document test report logs, QC logs, equipment records on schedule and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshoot issues; contact service company when necessary.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, maintain cleanliness, and comply with state and federal regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information at all times.
• Assist in training new employees to related duties.
