Job summary

Eastern Nephrology Associates (ENA) in Greenville, NC is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens, and support the lab team. The role requires on-site presence, patient interaction, and accurate documentation.

You will obtain blood specimens, track specimens, resolve orders with clinicians, and ensure data integrity while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with standard hours and potential

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2 years’ blood-draw experience preferred.
Other laboratory testing experience is a plus (waived and/or non-waived).
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Email, Allscripts, and EMR system.

Responsibilities

This position is on-site with patient interaction and real-time collaboration with providers.
Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and collects other specimens as required (25%).
Tracks collected specimens by documenting initials, date and time of collection and maintains daily tallies (25%).
Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the physician or laboratory personnel and notifying supervisor as needed (25%).
Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with the order and addresses discrepancies.
