Job summary

Patient First is seeking a healthcare assistant to locate patients, obtain vitals, and triage under physician supervision. The role includes using the EMR system, ordering labs and supplies, and assisting nurses and physicians with patient care.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy procedures, maintaining sterile instruments, and ensuring timely communication with the care team. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and CPR training, with an emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered

Qualifications

• Minimum typing experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (4–7 hours).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willingness to work at any center due to staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Locating patients, obtaining vitals, triaging, assessing medical condition, and preparing for exams.
• Understanding and using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notifying the Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and communicating questions about lab or x-ray needs.
• Assisting Nurses and Physicians with patient care and treatment.
