Job summary

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Observe students and new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate basic problem solving to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Handle hospital communication duties including on-call responsibilities by location.
• Maintain effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Demonstrate professional judgment with clients and colleagues.
• Perform clerical tasks including documenting communications.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Provide on-call/holiday coverage as needed.
• Perform basic PC duties.
