Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy area or enrolled in lab related education program.
• Phlebotomy Certification or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lab staff and other departments to ensure excellent patient care.
• Receive specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Input and retrieve lab results in LIS.
• Register specimen dropoffs in LIS ensuring accurate data entry.
• Process specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
• Distribute specimens to the appropriate testing area.
• Ensure QC/QA and maintenance of instruments and test kits.
• Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems as appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens and report results.
• Communicate results and rejections to appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate courier pickups as needed.
