Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

• Performs pre analytical and post analytical portions of laboratory tests within scope of practice under Tennessee Medical Laboratory Act.
• Prepares specimens for testing in areas such as sorting, centrifuging, decapping, separating/aliquoting and archiving.
• Operates laboratory equipment such as centrifuges and analyzers to prepare samples.
• Prepares and stains smears on automated stainers.
• Verifies accuracy of patient information, test orders, and specimen labeling; completes required documentation.
• Handles, packs, stores, and ships specimens appropriately.
• Answers inquiries about procedures, test results, and reports; reports critical results.
• Maintains inventory and stocking of supplies and equipment.
• Follows procedures for laboratory quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
