Baptist Health System's Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II – Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen registration and billing, and CLIA-waived tests. This role supports microbiology processing and training as needed.

The position emphasizes patient care, safety, and accuracy in specimen handling and reporting, with opportunities for professional development within a respected healthcare network.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical laboratory experience or completed phlebotomy training.
• Phlebotomy certification or formal training preferred.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program preferred.
• National phlebotomy certification preferred (ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar).

Responsibilities

• Performs venous and capillary phlebotomy.
• Maintains specimen integrity and proper labeling.
• Processes blood and body fluids for analyses.
• Performs CLIA-waived tests as requested.
• Reports results accurately and promptly.
• Inputs data into the laboratory information system.
• Performs basic clerical functions.
• Assists in stocking and maintaining laboratory supplies.
• Trains phlebotomists or laboratory students when needed.
• Maintains a safe work environment.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
