Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II to join the Laboratory team. You will perform specimen accessioning, phlebotomy support, clerical tasks, and assist with waived testing while serving as a liaison between patients, physicians and nursing staff.

This role requires a High School diploma (Associates preferred), healthcare experience, and certification could be preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Associates Degree is preferred.
• ASPT or ASCP Certification is preferred.
• Experience in a health care setting as Laboratory assistant, Phlebotomist or Clerk is required.
• One year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions related to laboratory testing, including clerical and computer tasks.
• Specimen accessioning and processing, and phlebotomy assistance.
• Represents the organization in inpatient or outpatient settings as a liaison with patients and staff.
