North Vista Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support clerical duties, patient check-in, and specimen processing in a busy hospital lab in Las Vegas, NV.

The role requires phlebotomy knowledge, lab terminology literacy, and a HS diploma with BCLS certification. Prior lab experience preferred; state CPT I/II certification may be required where applicable.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-year clinical laboratory experience performing similar job functions preferred.
• State Certified as CPT I or CPT II if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

Mansioni

• Performs computer entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties.
• Greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
• Possesses good communication skills.
• Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the terminology of tests ordered in the laboratory.
• Demonstrates a good working knowledge of phlebotomy and the equipment used in collecting specimens.
• Processes pathology, microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank specimens.
• Processes specimens for reference laboratory.
• Stocks and orders routine supplies.
• Keeps storage areas, trays, centrifuges, and collection areas clean.
• Performs instrument preventive maintenance, troubleshooting with proper training when assigned.
• Assists in quality control procedures and related tasks as directed.
• Assists in Pathology with training and evaluation.
