Job summary

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates accountability and commitment to quality work.
• Processes specimens according to standard policy and procedures.
• Answers, screens, and refers telephone calls with courtesy and minimal interruption of workflow.
• Reviews all patient identification elements for specimens, requisitions, and labels to ensure sample integrity.
• Picks, labels, centrifuges, aliquots and prioritizes samples for testing to meet turnaround times.
• Distributes laboratory reports by mail, fax or telephone to appropriate recipients.
