Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience in food production in hotel, restaurant, or high-end institutional settings preferred.
• Familiarity with diet restrictions and ability to adapt recipes accordingly.
• Ability to measure and scale amounts of ingredients used in a recipe.
• Proficient time management skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity.
• Prepares food on daily production report according to guidelines; maintains time/production records.
• Measures and mixes ingredients; uses kitchen equipment to prepare soups, gravies, desserts, sauces, casseroles.
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steams items per recipes; carves and slices meats and cheeses.
• Garnishes, displays and serves items according to standards.
• Ensures proper storage and rotation of inventories; monitors temperatures and safe handling.
• Maintains sanitation standards and temperature logs; minimizes waste and controls costs.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care knowledge for patients as applicable in the department policies.
