Riggs Community Health Center in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The role focuses on supporting end-user workstations, Windows LAN, and healthcare IT operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Windows-based LANs and end-user devices.
• Proficient with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
• Ability to install/configure PCs, printers and related equipment.
• Experience with network security and access control.
• Ability to train users and provide clear guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and work within HIPAA context.

Responsibilities

• Administers end-user workstations and supports end-user activities on a Windows LAN.
• Investigates user problems, identifies sources, and tests solutions.
• Installs, configures and maintains PCs, Windows networks, file servers, printers and related equipment.
• Performs software and application installations and upgrades.
• Plans and implements network security, managing host security and user management.
• Troubleshoots networks, systems and applications to resolve issues.
• Develops training for system users and maximizes use of networks and computing systems.
• Maintains confidentiality of information on the network.
• Assists personnel from other departments as a computer resource.
• Provides computer orientation to new and existing staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
