Job summary

Ascension in Appleton, WI is seeking a PRN EEG technician assistant for the Sleep Lab. You will help prepare patients and equipment for routine EEG procedures under supervision, assist with electrode application, give basic instructions, and support the team to obtain high-quality recordings while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

The role emphasizes learning under a qualified EEG Technologist, stocking and maintaining EEG equipment, and complying with privacy and safety

Qualifications

• Assist with preparing patients and equipment for routine EEG procedures.
• Provide basic patient instructions and promote safety throughout the procedure.
• Observe procedures and assist with obtaining quality recordings under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists the EEG Technologist with preparing patients and equipment for routine EEG procedures.
• Under supervision, assists with applying and connecting EEG electrodes according to established protocols.
• Provides basic patient instructions and promotes patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Observes EEG procedures and assists the technologist with obtaining quality recordings and troubleshooting equipment as directed.
• Assists with cleaning, maintaining, and stocking EEG equipment and supplies according to department procedures.
• Reviews and follows infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality practices.
• Learns to recognize and report abnormalities or technical issues to the supervising EEG Technologist.
• Performs assigned EEG-related tasks under the supervision and direction of a qualified EEG Technologist.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Education

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
• Must be current student of Neurodiagnostic Technology programs.
