Position Overview

The Department of Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC seeks a full-time Clinical Instructor of Neurology (Clinician Educator). The incumbent will provide neurological genetic counseling in clinical settings, focusing on various indications such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, motor neuron disease, and others. Responsibilities include patient intake, risk assessment, genetic testing, and education.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct patient intake for risk assessments and provide updated data on syndrome probabilities, tests, and options.
2. Review inheritance modes, present risk data, and formulate differential diagnoses through pedigree analysis.
3. Discuss testing strategies, select and interpret genetic tests, and coordinate cascade testing.
4. Provide accurate interpretation of test findings to patients and healthcare providers.
5. Explain genetic variants and discuss care options, follow-up, and support for patients.
6. Document counseling, testing, and follow-up activities.
7. Develop educational materials, teach residents and fellows, and deliver lectures to community audiences.
8. Participate in research activities, obtain informed consent, and support research teams.

Compensation

The annual base salary range is $83,000-$120,000, considering factors such as experience, education, skills, and organizational needs.
