Stony Brook University seeks a Clinical Instructor – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Hematology and Oncology division. The APP will assess follow-up solid tumor patients, participate in clinical trials, and manage chemotherapy-related issues in the outpatient Cancer Center.

Responsibilities include patient education, survivorship follow-up, and collaboration with the care team; NY licensure and credentialing are required; experience in cancer care is preferred.

Qualificações

• Current NYS RN license and Master’s degree in nursing.
• NYS license and certification for NP/PA.
• Experience in cancer/hematology preferred; strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Independently assess and evaluate follow up solid tumor patients at outpatient clinic.
• Perform physical exams and procedures for clinical trials.
• Present, discuss, and consent patients to clinical trials.
• Review lab findings and make treatment recommendations.
• Manage chemotherapy-related complications and orders.
• Handle outpatient phone calls including toxicity assessments.
• Follow-up with lab and radiology results with patients.
• Educate patients and families on breast cancer management and treatment.
