Qualifications

• B.S. in pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy required. Advanced degree and/or ASHP accredited residency preferred.
• Must be a registered pharmacist in the state of Washington.
• Three years of hospital pharmacy experience required, five years preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of financial reports
• Effective interpersonal skills critical

Responsibilities

• Participate in the maintenance and support of automated dispensing systems (ADS), including oversight of pharmacy technicians who have direct responsibility for supporting automation systems in the department.
• Build new entries into the Epic system, investigate issues related to ADS and Epic, and regularly communicate with pharmacy staff and Epic team members about these systems.
• Optimize pharmacy automation systems, and medication databases, as well as to refine processes in Epic as it relates to medication safety and optimizing workflows.
• Oversight and maintenance of financial issues of pharmacy charging, working closely with the compliance team, reviewing medication charges, and to audit data when required.
• Member of the pharmacy leadership team, helping to lead a team of about 30 professional pharmacists and 30 technical staff in a state-of-the-art pharmacy.
• Collaborates with Epic and I.T. analysts to investigate & problem-solve issues and recommend solutions related to medication-use processes.
• Identifies and engages in pharmacy quality improvement activities to enhance safety related to electronic systems as well as to optimize pharmacy workflows.
• Good knowledge of using spreadsheets, analyzing data in reports, and the ability to organize data in a meaningful way to communicate with analysts and team members.
