Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (Nurse Consultant II) for Broughton Hospital to lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of the EMR and other clinical information systems. You will work under the Clinical Informaticist Director to standardize tools and improve computerized clinical workflows.

This role requires RN licensure in NC and at least two years of clinical experience, along with strong informatics

Qualifications

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in NC and two years of clinical experience.
Experience with healthcare informatics and regulatory/operational frameworks governing clinical information systems.

Responsibilities

Participate in maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Clinical Information System (CIS) and related processes.
Provide CIS user support, including staff training and evaluation of clinical documentation practices.
Assist in test plan development; conduct system testing; validate functionality; ensure database integrity.
Serve on committees and workgroups involved in design, implementation, and revision of clinical information systems.
Maintain knowledge of healthcare trends, nursing practice, informatics standards, and applicable regulations.
Analyze clinical workflow to identify improvement opportunities and support technology integration.
Coordinate information flow to enhance system efficiency and support performance initiatives.
