Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is seeking a patient care management assistant to support the nursing team in a clinical setting. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with education and care coordination under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an approved certified program for assistants, and certification from an accredited certifying agency.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Promotes, assesses, and evaluates educational needs and requirements specific to job discipline.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty in which the particular work will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of clinic experience.
