Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Senior Analyst to manage the lifecycle of information systems, ensure data security, and support Surgical Services across physicians, clinicians, and healthcare staff.

You will collaborate with the Epic applications team, design improvements, and lead workflow optimization to deliver integrated, cost-effective health information systems at Novant Health.

Qualifications

• At least six years of clinical healthcare experience.
• At least 2 years in clinical informatics/EPIC roles.
• Experience in surgical services preferred.
• RN/MLS/ASCP licensure required; Epic Clinical Informatics Certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between clinical departments and Epic applications team to provide technical solutions.
• Promote system functionality by designing and testing clinical information systems.
• Drive evolution of integrated, cost-effective health information management systems.
• Identify workflow issues and define system/process requirements to optimize performance.
• Apply data concepts to enhance efficient use of the Electronic Health Record.

What We Offer

The Clinical Informatics Senior Analyst is responsible for securely managing information systems throughout their lifecycle, including knowing what information systems are within their scope of responsibility, understanding what sensitive data is stored, transmitted, or processed on those information systems, enforcing the security principles of least privilege and least functionality, knowing what events may constitute a cybersecurity incident, and understanding their role in security incident response activities. They will be supporting Surgical Services, including physicians, clinicians, health care workers, affiliates and partners by providing continuous support, troubleshooting and identifying opportunities for clinical information system improvements.

What You'll Do

• Serves as a liaison between the clinical departments and Epic applications team in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
• Promotes future and present system functionality by designing, and providing recommendations for building and testing the clinical information systems.
• Enhances the organization by driving the evolution of customer-oriented, cost-effective and integrated health information management systems
• Identifies clinical practice workflow and process issues and concerns and provides leadership and guidance to define system and process requirements that will optimize system performance and technology utilization by clinical practitioners.
• Applies the understanding of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom of key concepts into their practice to enhance the efficient use of the Electronic Health Record.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred. Masters Degree in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Business; preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of six years of relevant clinical healthcare experience, required.
  • Minimum 2 years as a Clinical Informatics Analyst, Epic Application Analyst, Epic Training, Clinical Practice Specialist, or Clinical Leadership experience, required.
  • Strong background in surgical services, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:Healthcare Licensure required ( RN, LPN, RT, PT, or MLS (ASCP)(CM - Med Lab Scientist ASCP Certification etc.), required. Obtain Epic Clinical Informatics Certification within twelve (12) months of hire, required.
