Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst Sr to identify workflow issues and lead system and process requirements to optimize EHR performance and utilization by clinicians.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and governance committees to evaluate EMR functionality and drive improvements in order set content and workflows, with a focus on high quality, cost-effective, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of clinical healthcare experience.
• Two+ years in Clinical Informatics or Epic-focused roles.
• Licensure in a healthcare field (RN/LPN/RT/PT/MLS) or equivalent.
• Epic Clinical Informatics Certification within 12 months of hire or Order Set Epic Certification.

What We Offer

The Clinical Informatics Analyst Sr identifies clinical practice workflow and process issues and concerns

and provides leadership and guidance to define system and process requirements that will optimize

system performance and technology utilization by clinical practitioners. This role requires a high level of

expertise in both clinical workflows and advanced technology solutions. The Clinical Informaticist applies

the understanding of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom of key concepts into their practice to

enhance the efficient use of the Electronic Health Record.

What You’ll Do

• Provides system-wide support and subject matter expertise to ensure the development, implementation, maintenance and regulatory compliance of order sets to promote desirable patient outcomes focused on high quality, low cost, evidence-based medicine. Note: Novant Health uses "order sets" as a collective term that includes Dimensions and non-Dimensions order sets, therapy plans, treatment plans, protocols, and standing orders.
• Conducts complex systemic analysis reviews, participates in regulatory surveys, and ensures compliance with industry standards and best practices.

• Works directly with physicians, nurses, and other members of the Epic (Dimensions) governance committees as well as the interdisciplinary teams to evaluate current EMR functionality and recommends innovative ideas, processes or procedures for enhancements, additions, modifications to improve existing processes or technology as it relates to order set content and workflows.
• Develop key performance indicators and analyzes data around complex processes, procedures, and outcomes related to order sets to see continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Education: High School or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred. Masters Degree in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Business.

• Experience:
  • Minimum of six years of relevant clinical healthcare experience, required.
  • Minimum 2 years as a Clinical Informatics Analyst, Epic Application Analyst, Epic Training, Clinical Practice Specialist, or Clinical Leadership experience,required.
• Licensure/Certification:Healthcare Licensure required ( RN, LPN, RT, PT, or MLS (ASCP)(CM - Med Lab Scientist ASCP Certification etc.), required Obtain Epic Clinical Informatics Certification within twelve (12) months of hire OR OR Order Set Epic Certification, required.
• Additional Skills Required:
  • Ability to lead cross-functional meetings.
  • Prioritize multiple high-level responsibilities.
  • Conflict resolution skills using a diplomatic approach.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in change readiness for the organization, being flexible as priorities change.
  • Advanced organizational skills-Organizes tasks, resources and coordinates activities among multiple disciplines.
