Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is recruiting a Clinical Infection Preventionist to lead site-specific infection prevention initiatives, surveillance activities, and staff education. You will ensure compliance with CDC, regulatory, and accreditation standards, and participate in system-wide quality improvement efforts.

Minimum education includes a Bachelor's degree with CIC preferred and eligibility; two years of healthcare infection control experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field (preferred).
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred; required within one year.
• Two years in healthcare; infection control and prevention experience preferred.
• Expert knowledge of infection surveillance and prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor site-specific infection prevention initiatives.
• Support surveillance activities at division/system level.
• Provide rounding, staff education, and training to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal/regulatory standards.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives.
