Description

SUMMARY: The Clinical Implementation Specialist supports the successful launch, implementation, and ongoing adoption of clinical laboratory testing programs across healthcare practices throughout the United States. This position is ideal for an RN or LPN who enjoys educating clinical teams, building relationships with healthcare providers, solving workflow challenges, and traveling to customer locations.

The position serves as a clinical resource throughout the implementation process, working closely with Sales, Laboratory Operations, Client Services, Billing/Reimbursement, and other internal teams to coordinate account launches, provide training, resolve implementation challenges, and support successful transition to routine operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and onboarding of new physician practices and healthcare organizations, coordinating implementation plans with Sales and Operations.
  • Conduct on-site and virtual implementation meetings and training for providers, nurses, medical assistants, practice managers, and other clinical staff.
  • Educate clinical teams on laboratory testing programs, patient identification, specimen collection and requirements, test ordering, requisitions, shipping, documentation, result access, and applicable medical-necessity requirements.
  • Assist practices with integrating laboratory testing into existing clinical workflows and provide hands‑on support during initial patient testing when appropriate.
  • Ensure practices have the necessary supplies, educational materials, training resources, and implementation support for a successful launch.
  • Follow up with newly implemented accounts to assess adoption, identify barriers, and address workflow, specimen, ordering, training, or other implementation issues.
  • Provide refresher training and ongoing support as needed and assist with transitioning accounts to routine operational support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers and clinical staff while serving as a trusted clinical resource.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and internal Sales, Laboratory Operations, Client Services, Billing/Reimbursement, and technical teams.
  • Communicate implementation status, risks, challenges, and follow-up needs to appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in pre‑implementation discussions, sales meetings, conferences, customer events, clinical education programs, and national product or program launches as needed.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of training materials, implementation guides, checklists, and other clinical resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and communicate customer and field feedback to internal teams.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 yrs of clinical healthcare experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, hospital, specialty practice, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively educate and communicate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, practice managers, and administrative staff.
  • Strong organization and project‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple implementations simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing circumstances in the field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and common business technology.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

The position involves frequent travel and work in clinic, group medical practice, and other healthcare environments, including potential exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, supplies, and controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, including training materials, supplies, or equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position may require extended periods of travel and time spent in healthcare facilities and customer locations.

HOURS AND TRAVEL:

  • Full-time, primarily field-based position.
  • Approximately 60–75% nationwide travel, including frequent overnight travel.
  • Independent travel throughout the United States by air and ground transportation.
  • When not traveling, the position will support customers and internal teams remotely from the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
