- Operate MRI scanners to create 3D images of patients' body tissues for physician diagnosis
- Assist in training students and technologists in MRI
- Perform injection procedures, including intravenous gadolinium contrast administration
- Collaborate with physicians to determine protocols and procedures for patient medical issues
- Complete MRI exams and procedures and obtain optimal images according to policy and protocol
- Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, and test results
- Review histories of ferrous implants and other contraindications for magnetic-field scanning
- Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media
- Practice established safety guidelines and use MRI safety tools and techniques
- Maintain responsibility for self-development
- Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms
- Ensure patients understand MRI procedures and remain comfortable during procedures
Requirements
- Preferred Associate's Degree in MRI
- Preferred Certificate in Radiology
- 1 year MRI experience preferred
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) credential through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT-MR, or ARMIT within 1 year
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to travel up to 20%
