Job summary

TRIMEDX at UPMC Altoona in Altoona, PA seeks a leadership-focused biomedical equipment operations leader. You will align staffing, priorities, and resources to ensure service reliability across the hospital, coaching technicians and driving accountability.

Move between hands-on work and strategic oversight, using KPIs to fix inefficiencies, manage vendor relationships, and prepare for inspections. You’ll balance people, performance, and patient care to strengthen operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment (required)
• Leadership or team guidance experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies (TJC, CAP, DNV) and operational performance metrics
• Technical certifications (A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, CCE) preferred

Responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day: align staffing, priorities, and resources so service never slips.
• Lead a team that delivers: coach technicians, guide performance, and build accountability.
• Turn insight into action: use KPIs and data to fix inefficiencies and improve operations.
• Be the partner hospitals trust: solve problems, manage vendors, and ensure readiness for inspections.
• You step into leadership naturally—people look to you for direction.
• You don’t just solve problems; you stop them from happening again.
• You balance people, performance, and customer expectations without losing momentum.
• You’re comfortable moving between hands-on work and big-picture thinking.
