Job summary

Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Educator to provide and evaluate clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff across all shifts, ensuring competency and evidence-based practice.

You will collaborate with unit leadership, support adherence to accreditation standards, coach staff, and work with the Nursing Education and Professional Development team to identify learning needs and implement educational strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
• Supports leadership by facilitating staff’s adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
• Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
• Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the ANPD to include: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.
• Provides patient care as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Hours of Operation

primarily M-F 5 (8)s or 4(10)s; occasionally working off shift or weekends to meet with staff on those shift. Will work between clinical educator and staffing rooms based upon department need.
