Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist to advance pediatric clinical education across Transformative Therapeutics and Clinical Translational Research. The role emphasizes onboarding, staff development, and evidence-based practice within a dynamic, research-forward environment.

The CES will drive competency, orientation, and scholarly inquiry initiatives, partnering with unit leadership to ensure safe, effective patient care and professional development for

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN with post-master's certification in education.
• Five years of clinical pediatric experience.
• Current Colorado RN license and BLS/CPR certification.
• ANCC or Magnet-approved certification.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, coordinates, facilitates onboarding and orientation for licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Demonstrates leadership to build partnerships across the system.
• Assess learning needs and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs and outcomes.
• Ensure competency assessment, documentation, and record keeping for team members.
• Mentor and develop preceptors to enhance learning experiences for new hires.
• Serve as a nurse planner, designer, and educator for unit education programs.
• Promote inter-disciplinary communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Guide and teach staff to advance patient care and nursing practice.
• Support quality improvement, regulatory, and patient safety standards.
