Job summary

Network for Hope is seeking a Clinical Responder to ensure timely evaluation of organ referrals and coordination with hospital teams. The role involves onsite assessments, chart reviews, and guiding referral management from initial referral to death/declaration decisions.

The candidate should have 2 years in medical/critical care, EMR proficiency, and strong communication and confidentiality. This is an on-site position with a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Some post-secondary education required; an associate degree in allied or health science or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience: Two years in a medical/critical care field or OPO required; experience as Medical Technologist, Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary or similar, EMT, Paramedic, or RRT preferred.
• Competence in electronic medical records (EMR) is required; experience with computer-based documentation and medical charting is needed.

Responsibilities

• Completes timely onsite response to the donation service area hospitals for viable organ referrals.
• Conducts chart reviews and determines medical suitability for donation in conjunction with other clinical personnel.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop a plan for referral management from initial referral through declaration of death or DCD evaluation.
• Informs hospital staff on progression of referral process.
• Maintains proper donor information and charting documentation during the referral assessment process.
• Aids with process complaints/concerns and assists in corrective actions concerning errors or complaints.
• Consults with designated organ administrator on call (AOC) and Family Support Liaison (FSL) staff as needed.
• Acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
