Job summary

Datavant seeks a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Specialist to elevate medical record documentation. You will review inpatient records, engage with physicians, and improve coding accuracy to influence DRG outcomes and reimbursement.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years CDI experience, an RN license with a BSN, and CCDS/CDIP certification. A minimum of 15 hours weekly is required, with Datavant offering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• RN license and Bachelor's degree in Nursing are required.
• CCDS or CDIP certification required.
• Must be able to accommodate a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate documentation reviews for inpatient records.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement and clinical severity for DRG-based patients.
• Demonstrate understanding of complications, comorbidities, severity of illness, and case mix impact on DRG.
• Educate physicians and caregivers on documentation quality to improve coding specificity.
• Query physicians for missing or unclear documentation to obtain details.
• Maintain daily production logs and track reviews, queries, and responses.
• Perform follow-up reviews to confirm clarified documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality of all files and records.
• Meet or exceed production and quality metrics.
