Datavant seeks a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Specialist to lead reviews of inpatient records, improve documentation clarity, and support accurate DRG-based coding. You will engage with physicians to optimize reimbursement and educate teams on documentation best practices to elevate patient care data quality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of CDI experience, RN licensure with Bachelor’s in Nursing, and CCDS/CDIP certification.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• Must be a Registered Nurse with valid license and CCDS/CDIP certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate documentation reviews for inpatient records.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement and DRG accuracy.
• Educate clinicians on documentation to improve coding specificity and billing outcomes.
• Query physicians to clarify missing or conflicting information in health records.
• Maintain daily production logs and follow up on clarifications in patient records.
