Job summary

Datavant Corporation is seeking a part-time Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Nurse Specialist to remotely support the United States. You will review inpatient records, query physicians, and collaborate to improve DRG accuracy and reimbursement.

Applicants should have 3+ years CDI and clinical nursing experience, an active RN license, and CCDS/CDIP certification, with 15+ hours weekly availability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• Registered Nurse license, Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• CCDS or CDIP certification required.
• Must pass a CDI skills competency assessment.
• Must be able to accommodate a min of 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate documentation reviews for inpatient records.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement and clinical severity.
• Demonstrate understanding of conditions affecting DRG and case mix index.
• Educate physicians on documentation to improve coding specificity.
• Query physicians for missing or unclear documentation to obtain details.
• Maintain daily production logs and tracking of cases reviewed.
• Perform follow-up reviews to confirm clarifications in records.
• Ensure confidentiality of all files and records.
• Meet or exceed production and quality metrics.
