Qualifications

• Experience in an acute care hospital or coursework in Health Information Technology.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with HIPAA and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Audit inpatient and outpatient records for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor documentation deficiencies and notify physicians.
• Notify physicians regarding potential suspensions and disciplinary actions as per Medical Staff Rules.
• Analyze discharged patient records to identify documentation deficiencies.
• Resolve documentation deficiencies within the EHR.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy before communication with providers.
• Collaborate with physicians and departments to ensure timely completion of medical records.
• Process medical record merges and maintain patient identity integrity.
• Release confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Register and assist patients with the Hospital Patient Portal.
