Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to become Clinical Director for the DMS program at the Phoenix campus. The role blends academic leadership with hands-on teaching, coordinating clinical sites and partnerships to drive student success.

You will lead didactic and lab sessions, supervise students in clinical rotations, and help align curriculum with industry needs while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree… (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Active RDMS credential in good standing.
• Specialty credential in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN.
• Minimum 3 years of full-time Sonographer experience.
• Teaching competency in instructional methods and student supervision.
• Active state licensure or credentials as required by law.
• Excellent communication and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Site Coordination & Development: Identify and secure new clinical sites and agreements.
• On-Site Supervision: Conduct student orientations and monitor progress with site instructors.
• Clinical Planning: Develop objectives, schedules and competency evaluations.
• Didactic & Lab Facilitation: Prepare plans and teach DMS methods and techniques.
• Competency Tracking: Monitor student logs and radiation exposure records.
• Curriculum Alignment: Coordinate plans with Program Director and maintain student success rates.
