Job description

We are Cary Medical Management (CMM), based in Cary, NC, and we are looking for a Clinical Director to join our team. Our management teams oversee and manage eight primary care practices across North Carolina. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director with a strong nursing background to lead our clinical initiatives for our primary care outpatient practices. The ideal candidate will focus on training, ensuring clinical competencies meet standards, and managing value-based care initiatives. The Clinical Director will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of patient care and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the clinical competencies of all clinical support staff (CNAs, CMAs, LPN, RNs, clinical managers) within the practice chain, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  2. Develop and implement training programs to ensure clinical staff are proficient in their roles and up to date with the latest medical practices.
  3. Lead value-based care (VBC) initiatives to improve patient outcomes and optimize healthcare delivery, including:
  4. Work closely with our Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) liaison to ensure that close compliance to our program targets.
  5. Work closely with center administrators and providers to implement initiatives in meeting ACO quality targets.
  6. Train all staff in VBC knowledge and understanding.
  7. Automate the tracking of quality measures to ensure compliance and improve patient care.
  8. Implement and maintain VBC programs that support and improve patient care.
  9. Monitor, evaluate, and audit clinical performance, providing feedback and guidance to staff.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to integrate clinical services and ensure a seamless patient experience.
  11. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
  12. Manage the clinical budget, including the allocation of resources and approval of expenditures.
  13. Function as a liaison between patients, their families, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Nurse (RN) degree is required.
  2. 10+ years of experience in clinical oversight in an outpatient setting.
  3. 5+ years of clinical experience in a value-based care role.
  4. Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and insurance billing practices.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  6. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  7. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a focus on prioritization and meeting deadlines.
  8. Proficiency in using healthcare management software systems, with experience in multiple EHRs preferred.
  9. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.
  10. Ability to develop and implement effective training programs.
  11. Experience in managing clinical budgets and resources.
